What can a middle-class family with two children and a dog, living in Hawaii, do to live more environmentally sound? Seems like it is more costly and time-consuming to be eco-friendly -which is hard with a budget, family and little time, not to mention everything has to be shipped to the island. (Our carbon footprint is about 7 tons per year.)

I'm just curious as to why wherever Pres Bush goes, there are protests not just against Bush, but everyone holds up signs protesting against the Iraq war. Why do all these countries care? The Iraq war doesn't even concern them, and has nothing to do with them whatsoever. It seems totally illogical to me, or maybe I'm missing something. Please tell me.

does co2 make up less than 5 percent of the green house gasses and the rest are water vapor etc. The oceans make up 90 percent of the co2 being emmited, then vocanoes, then the human factor. Then why do scientists charts really suggest that the solar spots on the sun are what cause the temperature differences that occur on the planet. Is this a political issue??? Should we focus on not poisoning our atmosphere with toxic substance instead of smoke screen the political bandwagan with lies???????????

I tried to find an answer to this from the Internet but couldn't. I did find that a 25 m tall tree can take over 20 000 kg of carbon dioxide out from the air per year, but how much dust? We made a bet so can you help me to find the answer?
