For millions of years, our planet has gone through major climate changes. The only difference between this climate change and the ones before is that there are way more humans living on this planet now. Why can't we just adjust to the change like we've adjusted to the climate changes in the past? The world is going to continue to change whether we are ready for it or not.

Because global warming is a myth insofar as it is man-made. Polar icecaps on Mars are also melting; so unless the Chinese and other environmental nightmare countries are also producing greenhouse gases there, it only stands to reason that the global climate change, if there is one, is the result of increased heat from the sun.

The world has gone through many climate changes on both macro and micro levels since inception. Why all of the sudden this one is problematic for those with extreme social agendas can only be politically, not scientifically, motivated.

Because the whole Earth revolves around, and exists to serve the purposes of, humans. I mean, we're the most important species ever to live on the Earth, so the world should stop having an unstable climate, stop going through warming and cooling cycles, and snap into line for us right away. Or so the enviromentalists seem to think.

I'm with you on this one... adapting is what made us the species we are today, it's a sad state of affairs seeing today's society so bothered by the possibility of a 30 centimetre sea-level rise, when 20,000 to 10,000 years ago, the people had to cope with a sea-level rise like this:

It'd be funny, if it wasn't so pathetic.

Because our modern society is so vulnerable to it, and because it's occuring really fast in geological terms, faster than any historical change.

We have a lot of people and stuff located very close to sea level. Moving that (or abandoning it) will be hugely expensive. Changes to precipitation and temperature patterns will disrupt agriculture. We're going to have to change where we plant crops and build enormous new irrigation systems.

Rich countries can do all that, but the costs involved will lower their standard of living.

Poor countries already struggling to feed themselves can't cope. Many people (not all) will die of starvation.

We really need to take action to reduce the impact.

EXACTLY RIGHT! That is absolutely positively the ONLY thing we can do! You can't change nature and the quack global warming bunch are loony if they think anybody or anything or stacks of money can change or fix nature.
Simply quit thinking and worrying about it! It won't help a thing.

We will, we just won't enjoy the process.

Most people hate change. Never heard your parents complain "It's not like it was in my day" or words to that effect. We all want things to be stable, never changing. Its a "Peter Pan Thing."

We're gonna hafta.

The climate is going to do what the climate is going to do. We can't stop it.

Or you can jump on the Global Cooling bandwagon.
