The land pits left after the extraction of the bauxite is not useable and no one especially the Americans bother to investigate the effects on the citizens in the surrounding areas especially children.
The biggest problem is that they consider these countries as being THIRD WORLD and as such there need be no consideration to the citizens. Now they are yelling about WATER RIGHTS with the BC Montana border. WOW!!!!

Mining operations would be regulated by the state of Montana.

For instance, there may be a Bureau of Mines (or someother name). If you have such an organization, they would be the one to complain to.

If you do not have such an organization, go to the state dept of env. quality and tell them what you have seen. Mines should be regulated by a host of permits. If you see a potential violation, call it in and let the DEQ investigate them.

If you do not like how the land is abandoned, then go to the legislature and force restoration legislation. Search on the net other state's laws and use them as a model of performance.
