Yes indeed, it is a good thing.

The truth is, generally speaking, as far as life is concerned, warmer is better. Ask yourself this: where is there more life? The Amazon rain forest, or Antarctica?

During the medieval warm period, when it was much warmer than today, it was a time of great prosperity.

Oh, and just ignore scare-mongers like ‘fiona4281’ & ‘canislupus’ saying things like sea level rise will drown us all, or the north Atlantic Drift will stop, plunging us into an ice age. There is no evidence *at all* to support such wild theories. It certainly never happened during the medieval warm period, so why should it happen now, just because they say so?

This is a typically uninformed comment. Quick answer: The warming leads to more severe weather, and rising sea levels that will flood low-lying parts of Britain. It takes more energy to cool a place down than to warm it up (in a well-insulated house, heaters do not waste anywhere near as much energy as air conditioners, plus you can just pull on a sweater, not an option for dealing with warm weather). In any case, the rising sea levels will deflect the Gulf Stream, which is what keeps Britain so much warmer than other places of the same latitude around the world, meaning that it may actually lead to Britain becoming cooler.

EDIT: Amancalledwhatever, or whatever you call yourself. No evidence, huh?

And, many, many more. I realise they're not all just about Britain, but there is such a thing as widening your horizons.

Yep, because the warmer climate will lead to more wind and rainfall.

But no doubt some muppets gonna say it's all a conspiracy as usual and it's down to 'volcano's'

If we have many more wet winters like this one we won't need any energy at all because we'll all be drowned.

true, but certain people will use up energy on air conditioners wasting more energy.
