The energysources are shrinking and shrinking. In a few years we are going to have a real energyproblem. A lot of people are investigating for clean and/or alternative energysources.
Do you think the usage of hydrogen is a good step to a cleaner and powerfull future?

I am a father of 3 and tired of paying these outrageous energy bills monthly. We pay in the neighbourhood of 450 canadaian and its got to end! I have come to the conclusion I am going to invest in renewable energy solutions for my home. I want to FULLY remove my home from the energy grid.
I need to know exactly what I will need? I understand I need solar panels and batteries, or windgenerator and batteries but, what else? What past the batteries in the system will I need?

There is an application for our area to have turbines and I am concerned for the local wildlife habitat and the local and migratory birds. Was wondering if anyone had experience regarding this, or opinions, thanks.

I was reading of the "Lake Erie Dead Zone" in one of Michigan's five Great Lakes (I'm from Detroit). In a nutshell it happens when the water at the bottom of the lake is depleted of oxygen. This happens for various reasons, one of them being the nutrient phosphorus being over-abundant in the water. There were others, but that doesn't affect the outcome of my question. Is water that has been depleted of oxygen just Hydrogen now? If not than what is it?

I can't make massive changes as just one person but if I, and everyone else in the western world can make small changes to their lifestyle and habitat then this will surely make a big difference.

I already use energy saving lightbulbs, drive a fuel efficient car, have double glazing, remember to switch lights off when not needed.

P.S. If you don't 'believe' in climate change, the question above should read "What can I do, as an individual, to help keep my fuel bills down?"

I know that you can put up a windmill or two on your property to reduce your own power consumption if you live in a rural area. the question is, can i build 10 of them to create more power than i use and sell the power for profit? the world needs clean energy and I'm interested in an investment. what are the rules?

I believe that if we end up living in caves to survive the sun that technology will not save us. Neither will our medicine. We will again become cave men and women because we will be so close to the sun or our ozone will be so damaged when we step outside we will be burnt. It is coming and using fossil fuel will only make it worse. And yet everyone is so dependent upon it that in a sense we are killing ourselves. Anyone ever seen the day after tomorrow? Well that is what we have to look forward to. Another ice age or so much heat that skin cancer is caused by steeping outside of your house. We will not survive just because we believe we will or because we a re humans and have before. We will survive only if we band together and make change. But humans are greddy and foolish and would rather fight wars than help each other. A peaceful eco-friendly world is impossible. So how are we to survive?
