I have had a lot of education in chemistry and biology and for many years I was a reviewer for science articles to check their accuracy and logic. I have seen Al Gore's movie twice with other scientists and each time we unanimously agreed that the science was fair, accurate and logical. He makes an excellent case. The bogus websites and political BS that some people have cited here are not science. Now that the IPCC report on climate change is out, the argument is over. OVER! Get used to it. The evidence is clear and convincing to those of us who have the scientific training and experience to understand it.
No matter how badly you want to think otherwise, don't confuse the strength of your feelings with the strength of your argument. Global climate change is real and humans caused it.

It is accurate. I saw a film called 2050, in 1990 ,made in UK that said the same thing. Al Gore had better pictures and newer facts. Many sccientists not associated with the government see global warming as a problem, caused by our burning fossil fuels.

It's pretty accurate, but at the high end of mainstream scientific estimates.
For one example, most of Florida may not disappear. Just many billions of dollars worth of coastal buildings and cities.
Bottom line. Some of it may be worst case stuff, but he's pretty much conveying the right idea. It's happening, it's not natural, it's our fault, and if we don't do something about it it will be very bad.
The guy below me references the junkscience guy. That's amazing. The junkscience guy used to say cigarettes were not harmful, and was paid by the tobacco companies. Now he says global warming is not real. Who knows who's paying him now. But he makes Al Gore look like Al Einstein by comparison.
The whole story:
"In January 2006, Paul D. Thacker reported in The New Republic that Milloy has received thousands of dollars in payments from the Phillip Morris company since the early nineties, and that NGOs controlled by Milloy have received large payments from ExxonMobil [3]"

This is how desperate the global warming deniers have gotten. They also offered to bribe scientists $10,000 to criticize the IPCC report. That was not a research grant, it was a straight bribe.

I don't know. However, I sincerely would like to know some things about Al Gore such as:
1. Private jet usage?
2. Does he drive a flex fuel or hybrid vehicle?
3. Does he use solar power in his home?
4. Does he harvest rainwater?
5. Does he recycle?
6. Does he plant trees?
Any idea where I can find this information? Thanks.

That book should be re-named "An Irresponsible Half-Truth" (and as we all know, a half-truth is a whole lie). Here are a few things you need to know: (1) The main body of "scientific" evidence supporting global warming is fundamentally flawed, (2) There is a huge body of independently verified scientific evidence that shows global warming is NOT happening, and (3) Scientists on both sides of the issue are being funded by special interest groups -- the pro-global-warming camp is being funded by environmental extremist groups like PETA and Greenpeace, not to mention the Hollyweird crowd, and the anti-global-warming cadre is being funded by oil companies and big business. BOTTOM LINE: We really don't know whether global warming is happening or not, but Algore's book smacks of arrogance by saying he understands the problem and he knows that we can fix this so-called problem (and he supposedly knows how to do it). Even if we could get a group of truly objective scientists to study this phenomenon and determine what's really going on -- global warming or not -- there's no guarantee we would be able to do anything about it. Mother Nature has been around a heck of a lot longer than we have, and she has taken care of this planet for several millenia, so it's very possible that any action on our part could cause more harm than good. Don't believe anything you hear, see, or read about global warming -- review the "evidence" yourself and ask the difficult questions.

Al Gore is a politician, with no scientic training. It is therefore merely his opinion on cherry picked facts. Anyone could do the research and write something similiar on any subject, using any slant they choose. A good question for Al and his cronies would be: 'If humanity is the cause of global warming (assuming such a thing exists), why is the planet Mars also current experiencing a similiar warming pattern?

Scientifically, it is very accurate. I've seen him speak on the subject and he presented many ideas I learned studying in environmental science courses in college. Gore is not a scientist, but he doesn't say this is "his" research. He is just the name or the face bringing much-needed light to the subject. Besides, you don't have to be a scientist to be knowledgeable. Be careful of the responses to your question... many will be tainted with political bias! Do some research. It is a problem that can still be reconciled.

see you later as people have self assurance the "carbon credit" rip-off, they could have self assurance that the first residing house has an generic footprint equivalent to the first. Couple that with believing that on account that Al spends all his time telling people a thanks to save the planet from the doom he blames on Bush, there is not something "inconvenient" about those truths. you're proper on the data, yet in case you imagine they count number to the magnificent scientists of Hollywood, you're incorrect.

Believe me, if he was not accurate, he would get his adds sued off.
Millions of tons of crap DAILY into the atmosphere is nothing to sneeze at. Pun intended.
We are shrewing ourselves over for a buck.
Shooting ourselves in the herd.
Stepping on our own ducks.
Cutting off our nose to spite our finch.
Kicking ourselves in the asparagus beetle.
For the almighty dollar we're ruining it for everybody and everything, and people who deny it are three fries short of a Happy Meal.
Have a nice day.

The references include reviews of the scientific problems with a politicians view of the situation. There are grave problems with the science in the movie and if a student turned in such material, they would get an F for a grade.
