There is an application for our area to have turbines and I am concerned for the local wildlife habitat and the local and migratory birds. Was wondering if anyone had experience regarding this, or opinions, thanks.

In England, the early turbines were killing birds and there was some worry about extencton of some species. More recently some windfarms have been found to use more petroleum than they produce in electricity because they are so inefficient.

Any windfarm must have an environmental and wildlife impact study done before it is built. Also realize, new windfarms mean new powerlines and lots of scenic beauty lost.

The birds usually fly over or around the wind generators. Wind generation is great. Think of the fossil fuels we don't have to burn.

Its like saying that tall buildings or roads might affect bird migrations. BIRDS CAN SEE - and they can fly too! They will "fly around" solid objects that get in their way.

Besides, the birds like the extra wind that the wind generators make...

They work fine, and they hardly affect bird migration. Birds fly way higher than the turbines reach.

There are some east of me and other than being ugly and very noisy, they're just fine.
