Anybody know how many books were printed?
How much wood it takes to make a pound of paper?

Also how much CO2 does a an average tree consume?

And what % of those who will read the book already agree that Global Warming is real and caused by humans?

Try to include the extra flights of all the guests, the heating and lights, all the technical equipment, the media, the fashions, the security, etc in your calculations. If you don't know, at least point me to a site that would help me figure it out.
Also, don't you think if Hollywood was *that* concerned about the environment, they would cancel the awards ceremony?

I know that using compact fluorescent bulbs will save both in electricity and in how long the bulbs last. My question is would I save even more by using L.E.D's? I have heard that they use less electricity and last even longer.

I need to write a project for uni on a local environmental issue and having trouble with the local issues more than the global ones. If you could tell me of any environmental issues which concern you in your area i would be very grateful. Anything from recycling to conservation will do. Thanks!!!

I am SO tired of liberals and their EPA garbage and their ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS plans for the American people. They make day to day life SO much more complicated than it needs to be by having all these STUPID restrictions on EVERYTHING you do. I do what I can to save energy so I don't have a high electric bill......even have a star energy house that keeps my electric bill around $200 even though it is 4000 sq feet. I do ALL OF THIS (which cost me over $15000 in extras when my house was built) and now they tell me that I can't have a regular light bulb because it uses too much energy. ARE YOU GUYS NUTS? What do we do to stop the ridiculousness?

Not a car solely running on wind power. It would be like a hybrid car; sometimes it would use battery power, sometimes it would use gas power, and sometimes it would use wind power. On the highway with 60 to 70+ m.p.h winds comming at you, don't you think somehow we could use that to help power the car?

I just got this dream in which i was in some monument (INDIA). And i was troubled by the filthy site of the water in the pool over there. So i and some children started cleaning this pool by carrying buckets of water to this site... Now , im thinking that is there any such organistaion in INDIA that is cleaning the monuments, the buildings and the streets... Even if there is , why is it i still see evrything is so unclean and garbage is everywhere.... If one were to start such an organisation , then it will involve a lot of people and it would give the poor a job . For them to be happy with the job, they need proper pay.... Now to pay them we again will have to depend on the government.... Now will the government be able to pay these thousands and millions of ppl, all over India, who are cleaning the streets and cities.... Im talking of effective cleaning ! Cos, there will be someone incharge of these ppl , who constantly sees to that that the workers are doing there work..

I am building an energy efficient house. I'm installing solar panels for water heating, and aerothermic underfloor heating, as well as extra good insulation. I'm now thinking about lighting. Can anyone advise me about the comparative efficiencies of halogen v other light bulbs? The house should benefit from plenty natural light as there are large glass windows.

mankind has shot, poisoned and trapped wolves almost to extinction not to mention other species. the best single reason is the wolf predation on livestock, but there's something else behind. it's far too unclear for me. every year wolves take less sheeps than any disease does. what makes people go to such extremes?

As a teacher, I need to do a short presentation for a chemistry class about polluted water for a lesson on Catholic Social Teaching. I need to directly relate the polluted water troubles of other countries (or our country) to a chem lesson. We are doing covalent compounds in the next chapter and discuss properties of water. I was hoping to fit it in at that time.
Any ideas?
