I need to write a project for uni on a local environmental issue and having trouble with the local issues more than the global ones. If you could tell me of any environmental issues which concern you in your area i would be very grateful. Anything from recycling to conservation will do. Thanks!!!

rising sea levels: will engulf large parts of the country soon
rising average temperatures: confusing wildlife to breed/migrate etc at different times increasing chance they'll die
temperatures affect farming practices and crops
lack of recyclingmeans there is very little landfill space left with few alternatives
landfill: produces methane which is 21 times more powerful as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, leechate is produced from biodegrading organic matter which can be very pollutiong if reaches soil or water ways due to high nitrate content
farming reduces habitats for wild animals and uses chemicals eg pesticides which can kill off bugs or get into their systems that affects birds

Global warming - it's causing water levels to rise in all counties - there will be flooding, permanent flooding of many stretches.
Also, the cliffs of Norfolk are eroding away & the county becomes smaller & smaller as the ocean pulls in all the cliff matter & advances.
And if you want a petty one too - where I live in Norwich it is nearly impossible to recycle metals (all, from steel to aluminium); plastic; computer parts; large items of wood & batteries. There are no collections from anywhere.

I am from Madrid, Spain
We will have serious issues regarding fresh water next summer unless weather changes. Lack of rain and snow on this winter.
