I was tuning in on CNN today and cafferty or whatever his name is said that we are 5% of the world yet we consume 25% of the world's oil. That is crazy! I still dont get how we are 5%. We have 300 million people, the third most in the world. If we are the third most populated country in the world, how can we be only 5%. Your take on all this?

I am trying to convince my dad that global warming is real. If anyone has any ideas on how to convince him, it would be much appreciated. Please. This is very important to me. If I can change his mind, then maybe he would have more respect for what I believe in. Thank you.

The trees we cut are not always large. The cedar trees are large in number but not in size. I am looking for a better answer than just burning them. Can they be used for paper or veneer products, or should they be used for shavings and chips ?

Oops. I forgot. Anything you disagree with is "junk science". Anything that agrees with your "theory" is fair and balanced reporting.

An endemic species is one only found in one region on the whole planet and nowhere else. Like ocelots are only found in southern Texas and South America. Dogs, however, are not; there are dogs EVERYWHERE... name as many endemic species as you can. It's for my science class so thank you for helping me!

Maybe in 50 years or so, California & Florida will be underwater... But this winter so far has been nice and mild for me! Plus global warming will open up ocean travel through the arctic. Maybe Canada will be come the new 'tropical hot spot' everybody is dying (quite literally in some cases) to visit.

For many, a personal car is not a necessity. But, it can be difficult to break the automobile habit. Psycological hurdles can be even bigger than logistical hurdles.

I'm digging for positive encouragement to send to a family member who is *this close* to going car-free!

Help me out: What is your favorite aspect of a car-free lifestyle?

I am doing an opinion paper on global warming, effects of our life on it, and stuff like that. Sooo, I was looking if ya know of any websites that may have statistics like:
How much the average person throws away in a year
How much electricity is used in one day (or hour or minute) in the U.S.
What percent of Americans recylce
Stuff like that. Basiclly any statistic or website that makes America seem like we don't recylce and use too much energy.
Thank you so very much!
