They contribute through methan gases released through farting but also I feel that they indirectly contribute becuase of the lands we clear to house these cows.. If each person stopped eating beef we would each save 2 acres of rainforest .. we as a nation eat more beef than anyone ... and we are the most unhealthy people too ... hummmmm wonder why

Actually the methane gas their digestive systems produce is probably negligible. We could go into measuring all of the carbon chemistry we want to, but think of this: We would have vast herds of buffalo roaming the country and doing the same thing if it were not for human intervention. The cattle have a much larger effect because of the production methods involved. Many more cattle are in feedlots than grazing the open range. A great deal of resources are used to plant, harvest, store, and transport grain to feed the cattle. Cattle are just one part of the world economy that is being directed by the invisible hand expressed of the marketplace. You and I benefit from the free market system's economies of scale and gains from trade even if we do not eat meat or wear leather, because these products are available very competitively to people who do. The planet is sustaining a greater number of people through this dynamic, vital, and prosperous system than any time in history. The real question is how do you value human beings?

Cattle through burbing and parting release methane which is a greenhouse gas. The cattle have been blamed for some of the methane but humans contribute just as much. Its a source that it talked about to make farmers part of the scape goat for global warming

First of all, their fecal matter do not release methane. Rather, it is their flatulence. Cows, being ruminants with 4 stomachs, belch and "fart" a lot. This gas releases methane, which is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases warm up the atmosphere by absorbing the sun's thermal energy (i.e. heat). But to only blame the cows would be wrong. We humans also produce methane in our flatus. That is why you see college dorm kids try to ignite their farts; methane is flammable.

And by the way, eating more hamburgers will of course not solve the problem. You'll only help to spur on the beef industry to get more cows to make up for the beef you ate.

My name is Rafael Lomena. I write from Alicante (Spain). I am independent investigator on the Accelerated Global Heating and want to share with all something that can turn out from interest to fight this phenomenon.
I believe that the main cause of the Accelerated Global Heating is in the great and increasing forest fires that are whipping to the planet in the last years.
My complete report is in: http://inicia.es/de/rlv/clim.htm
If they do not understand the Spanish they can use the automatic translator that will find in the main page of site:

Cattle need to graze and they graze on gras and other green shrubs which produce oxygen. this limits the amount of oygen that can combine with carbon monoxide to from carbon dioxide which is used by plants for photosynthesis. But cattle only have a significant effect of global warming when they overgraze i e eat too much.

it quite is relatively a help. If residing area is geared up one on actual of the different then there is greater land left to enhance flowers to feed all those people. All homes that best are made up of concrete and metallic, no longer timber. so as that they do no longer shrink down total forests to construct them. Forests are a source that should help mitigate worldwide warming. in spite of the shown fact that it is likewise an indication of inhabitants enhance, too; which does no longer help our environment. might you somewhat have a tall construction made up of stone and metallic, or thousands of timber framed properties cluttering the panorama? take a seem on the photos interior the hyperlinks and tell me it relatively is greater suitable, a highrise construction or city sprawl?

Their Fart and dropping emits Methane Gas.
They graze a wide area of grass. Which means There are no trees to release oxygen. They eat a lot (They have more stomaches) and chewing all the time. Thats why they fart a lot.

Humans produce more methane gas by farting and burping but we never blame our self's for the problem, blame the animals that can't defend them self's. Just ask your self, how many people are there as compared to bovine. Hmmmm
