The Book has many of the graphs and pictures from Al Gore's film The Inconvenient Truth but definitely found it useful for really studying the graphs. It is a beautifully laid out book that is easy to read and the pictures are supurb.

I watched the DVD on that, hosted by Al Gore, and it was a remarkable documentary of what I found were 'facts' on the global warming issues. Our planet is at stake, and has been, for years. It wasn't dealt with because too many businesses, factories and billionaires are risking losing a lot of money over it, and heaven forbid, these poor souls lose their huge paychecks, instead of helping the planet!!! Sheeesh!
I thought that the DVD documentary was very well thought out and worded, so that it made sense, it was understandable, and it really made you think about where we are, on this planet, and what would happen if the planet's downfall would affect us, as people!! I mean, it's not like we can all just hop on some aircraft/shuttle, and fly off to another planet to live, just like that!! NOOoo sir! We're S.O.L, and we've done it to ourselves!!
The simplest things like not leaving the water running, or buying better lightbulbs, or riding your bike to work, or carpooling, and even how you buy your foods (organic) really would make a difference. I think there should be a policy on certain days that there would be NO flights in the air, at all, and days where NO vehicle should be running, period! This would save our air and lessen the pollution in clumps!! I think if we all worked together and thought of this, universally, as a concerned society, we would really make a lot of changes that would have an impact on our global situation.....is it 'realistic', though? I mean, it would take years to accomplish these kinds of tasks, but it can be done, of MORE people were taking on the larger businesses and factories, and mines, and protesting them, and boycotting them, things like that....
Makes me want to go out and hug a tree!!! :-)

'Al Gore's book and movie target people who can't think for themselves.
He makes a lot of statements that statistically, are absolutely untrue (Global Warming causing an increase in number and intensity of hurricanes) and he leans on the words of Dr. James Hanson of the Goddard Space Lab. Hanson has been well funded by the Heinz philanthropies and even a dolt can see the Heinz/John Kerry/Al Gore relationship. Hanson is saying what he's told to say and Al Gore is making a movie and book out of it. Pull your heads out, people!! Al Gores Inconvenient Truth is conveniently padding his bank account by your stupidity.

Al Gore is just looking for votes. His documentary is filled with so much innaccurate data, I wouldn't have the time or the room to type it all. Just more propaganda feeding the media machine.

the book is worth a read if you havn't seen the film (not been widely shown), not great, but good pictures of glacier retreat etc.

very US centric, but it is trying to convince the US who are the main contributers/deniers to climate change.

Read State of fear from Crichton. It is fiction but it is full of facts and references. Much better.
