Conserve, conserve, conserve. Gas, electricity, anything that can produce toxins into the air. Also, what's why use an SUV to get from point A to point B when you can just use a regular 4 cylinder vehicle? (Personally, I think the drivers, generally male, are overcompensating for something...)

I must commend you on trying to help the environment, that is really a noble cause. :)
I think ways we can stop global warming is to use alternative means of fuel, and be careful about how much electricity we use (as you probably know, electricity releases harmful fossil fuels into the air.)
Also, recycling helps the environment. :)
And there are some other things that contribute to global warming, such as all of the pollution factories create, but I don't know if you could really do much about that, except for maybe write a strongly worded letter explaining how they are causing global warming and the dangers of global warming, and if you did some research, maybe you could suggest some alternate means of powering factories.

I dont think we can completely stop global warming but there are some things we can all do to help, including:
using energy efficient light globes in the home
driving hybrid cars
turning off lights/powerpoints when not in use
if everyone makes small changes it will make a big difference to global warming issues in the future

Use energy efficient lights, Insulate your home, burn as little fuel as you can. If EVERYBODY just cut back a little it would actually help. Just don't wast energy, or polite unnecessarily.
When gas prices were up, U.S. oil consumption was down almost 10%. Well if we can cut 10% just like that there is lots of room to reduce what we (Americans) are using mostly as waste.
Unfortunately the wealthy in this country are much more interested in their immediate personal comfort than the fate of the world.
The United States uses something like half the worlds resources with 1/10 of the population, so we can make a big difference.

Stop blaming others for the problem and start with ourselves and walk as often as you can without using your vehicle to pollute the air as we have done so badly. I honestly don't think we can cure the problem now, its too late. But fear not, we can not win a war with Mother Earth ever! She will rid the bad bacteria it is infected with like all of nature does and the bad bacteria happens to be humans in this instance but she will rid the earth of it when she has had enough. It amazes me how tolerant Mother Nature has been thus far. We should have been eradicated many moons ago. It will happen though, be patient.

Well, Leonardo DiCaprio recently posted a global warming question. He is encouraging people to actually PAY ATTENTION to the issue. Most people aren't doing that right now--so nothing is really being done about global warming.
Participation is vital for the prevention of gw.

My name is Rafael Lomena. I write from Alicante (Spain). I am independent investigator on the Accelerated Global Heating and want to share with all something that can turn out from interest to fight this phenomenon.
I believe that the main cause of the Accelerated Global Heating is in the great and increasing forest fires that are whipping to the planet in the last years.
My complete report is in: http://inicia.es/de/rlv/clim.htm
If they do not understand the Spanish they can use the automatic translator that will find in the main page of site:

Thanks to all.

we can't stop pollution: rather, we can help by slowing down the effects. first, we have to use the car wisely, because it exhales dangerous gases that fog up the ozone layer. Second, we have to slow down pollution in factoreis. Third, plant more natural beings, such as trees and plants. These absorb the carbon dioxide in the air and turn it into oxygen. Prevent forest clearings and forest fires are another way to save the ecosystem.
