Sea water contains plenty of salt so it's really not for drinking. Too much salt in our bodies increases the blood pressure severalfold which can lead to heart disease, stroke and kidney failure.

The salt in the water causes your body to dehydrate, and as you know the body is about 70% water or some high figure like that. We need water for our cells to live and create energy in the form of ATP using cellular respiration. Without the water we die.

Besides all the vomiting you'll do, it should not be drunk because of its high dissolved mineral content. In the long run, more water must be expended to eliminate these minerals (through excretion in urine) than is gained from drinking the seawater itself.
