I need a good answer, not what you THINK, something fact-like.
-->what do you think happens to the majority of water (not ice) at the poles?
-->what do you think happens to the majority of water at the equator?
-->what two characteristics of water combine to form a thermohaline current?

"Until observing the effectiveness of a clear cut strip in stopping a forest fire, I would have agreed that clear cut forest areas are bad, and still do, if the clear cut is a whole mountainside. However, one-fourth to one-half mile wide clear-cut bands, are beneficial to the forest and to wildlife. These clear-cut bands are the single most effective means of stopping a forest fire. Within a year after being clear cut, these clear cut areas have newly planted trees, grasses, abundant flowers, and are full of game signs. For several years after a ground-sterilizing forest fire there is nothing but black ground. Proper forest management, which includes letting some fires burn, prescribed burns, and areas of strip clear cuts, increases the habitat for all types of wildlife, whereas hot burning forest fires sterilizes the soil and nothing grows, or lives there, for many years."

I found this on a website, makes sense.

I think it would be a good idea if anytime any of us find a new tit bit on helping our planet, we should post on here to inform others so that we can make a change or try to.

EXMPL: kleenex, scott tissue, and cottonelle are products that don't use recycled paper. Instead they clear-cut ancient forest to produce their product. let's stop buying these products and also get the word out to others.
we might be at the point of no return (or close to) on saving this planet, but we can at least try.
your thoughts?

Whats the point of paying a recycling charge on car tyres when you find loads dumped all over the countryside, would it be better to dump them at sea,I believe they do so in Australia to help make reefs for marine life.

As more shopping malls find way into our neighbourhood street and petrol stations expand their services to include conveniences shopping and take-away, we can no longer expect our neighbourhood streets to be the social and recreational public spaces they once were.

The origin of the summer and winter time changes in the United Kingdom was to help the Farming community care for their stock during the winter months - in particular the milking of cattle. Certainly nowadays, milking is generally mechanised and most of the cattle are usually herded in to shelters overnight. What is the need for the time change now? It is also reported that road traffic accidents will increase because of the winter time change.
