They still need the combustion of fossil fuels or worse, nuclear power, in order to supply the required electricity.

The emissions/wastes are just displaced to the sites of the power plants. Therefore, why is it even considered as a viable option?

Poaching threatens the last 5,000-7,000 tigers left in the wild.Frighteningly, there is a growing resurgence in trade and demand on the black market for tiger skins for rugs and fashion items.

Tiger skins are sometimes even seen in open markets in China and South Asia. Combined with the fact that the tiger population has decreased 95% in the past 100 years, there's no denying that poaching poses a serious threat to the few rare cats alive in the wild today. Although tigers face formidable odds,

WWF is working to help save this majestic creature. In places such as the Russian Far East, where WWF has provided protection from poachers and safeguarded wild prey, tiger populations have recovered remarkably.

if global warming is such a problem and combating it seems to be and endless task could nasa just not remove some of the ice into outer space or the moon for example, that would prevent rising sea levels, it wouldnt fix everythin but at least we would be in control of the level of water to prevent the loss of low lying islands around the world

With everything focusing on environment issues lately ... (which is a good thing!) ... one suggestion broadcast on national television no less ... says we waste less electricity by switching off our equipment rather than leaving on stand-by. This is rocket science to me but surely turning a piece of equipment on and off all the time, i.e. TV, stereo, lights etc would use more energy than if you just left it on standby?

No Governments, Big Corporations ever talk openly about "The Coming Oil Crisis" Becuase they are scared of the panic it will cause.
But they are ever so keen to talk about, reducing emissions, saving energy, recycling etc... etc...
Do you think this is there way of getting us to reduce our non renewable energy source consumption without actually telling us that oil is actually about to start to run out and run out fast?
