if global warming is such a problem and combating it seems to be and endless task could nasa just not remove some of the ice into outer space or the moon for example, that would prevent rising sea levels, it wouldnt fix everythin but at least we would be in control of the level of water to prevent the loss of low lying islands around the world

Oh my gosh!!! Shoot it to the moon? Well that is surely
a well thought out solution to the problem.

Have you any idea what the postage would cost?

What kind of box would you like to put the ice into?

If someone was to take some ice and put it into a rocket, how much ice would you recommend they take? 1 spoonfull? 1 Gallon? 10 Gallons?

Actually you should be thinking about how to transport some refrigerators to the Artic and to Antartica to produce more ice, because the problem is that we are loosing ice in both places. Now these needed refrigerators need to be pretty big, because the amount of ice that is missing is maybe 8,000 cubic miles. So that is a sort of large refrigerator.

As an alternative, you could scoop out 8,000 cubic miles of ocean and thereby reduce the level of the seas enough to stop flooding low lying areas. i guess you could collect enough empty pepsi and coke bottles to put all that water in and store it in Iraq or some place like that. Shipping costs might get a little prohibitive, however. you must start somewhere though. You should begin this project right away, if you are really concerned.

Unfortunately, that won't work. Our oceans have a filtration system which is based on currents that flow through deep crevices along the ocean floor.
When water freezes, the salt sinks down to create 'heavy water' which creates the flow and movement. Without this our ocean water will just stagnate and species will begin to die off.

Right now seabirds are abandoning their nests because there is no food due to the slowing of these deep currents. This will lead to other devastating consequences as well.

The water level problem is minor compared to the loss of currents. Removing the ice will only speed up this horrible threat to humanity.

The only way to slow it down is to have 'the almighty stockholder shares' not figure into the equation, anymore. International corporations are polluting in order to make profits. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam sold us down the river a long time ago.

I find it hard to believe how many people buy into this global warming nonsense. If you care to check it our you will find that about 30 years ago we were all going to freeze to death from an impending ice age. When I was in grade school the weekly reader told us the population explosion would starve mankind by the turn of the century unless drastic measures were taken. There were UN meetings and media hype just like now with "climate change" I am not making this up. Give this craze another ten years and then you will wonder what happened to it.

first off your dreaming not that dreaming is bad but the ice would not make it into space nasa waist, enough money on there stupid little space venture, at tax payer expense, if they consider it, first they would research it, for 20 years at about a billion dollars then the 40 billion the put the plan into action, global warming is going to happen because of $$$, we know what we need to do to slow it down, but that will cause companies to lose $$$ and that ain't happening.

No, that is a terrible solution! Much of the world's supply of fresh water is there! Instead, you might break off large chunks of the ice, drag it off with large towboats and ship it to areas with little fresh water (Arab deserts and other dry, barren countries) for a potable fresh water source. Besides, even if you could, the costs would be astronomical! (pun intended)

If we were advanced enought to lift such weight to outer space we would not have to worry about such a small thing as global warming

That is an excellent idea! We should install a enormous thruster rocket onto Antarctica so that we could just drive the earth around space!

Oh get real, do! How many rocket trips do you think it'd take to "just remove" millions of tons of water (ice) into space.
