You can save energy by saving water, as water takes energy to be delivered fresh and clean into your house or apartment. Use less water for doing dishes. Turn off the tap as you scrub your teeth, and turn it back on as you rinse.

Buy energy efficient appliances that are necessary for modern life, such as refridgerator etc. You can double-glaze windows and ensure no cracks are letting cold air in or out to maximize heat and AC usage. Turn down the radiators in rooms you dont use much and buy "snakes" to put at the bottoms of doors.

Walk to school, walk to work, walk to the corner store... cars use fossil fuels which are being depleted too fast. It's also good for your waistline!

If the government made petrol £2 a litre and scrapped car tax and income tax - that would save energy - people might walk their kids to school rather than using 4 litre 4 wheel drive baby buggies. We also need to scrap tax on saving and increase VAT on manufactured goods. A big tax on paper would also save energy as government, local and national and business got rid of all those bureaucratic paper pushers that make life miserable for us all. On a personal note - buy a sweater and turn your heating down.

Wrap the water heater(gas) with a heater blanket...that will keep the water warmer longer.
Change the standard light bulbs with those flourecent bulbs.Use a motion detecting light on the outside...so it's not on all the time.
On cold nights instead of heaters use an extra blanket and wear a comfy sweater and use a lounging blanket to watch tv.
