Temperature means only the atmospheric temperature in degrees F or C. But weather is far more than that. Sunny, Cloudy, raining, windy, cyclone etc etc. Of course a sunny day will be hotter than a cloudy day. Temperature alone can not give an accurate picture so weather reports are increasingly important.
