Climate change is now showing its true color. Forest Fires have endangered wildlife. It has gave way to drought. Increased temperature will soon melt ice caps and glaciers on mountain-tops. People will soon miss these losses. Recreational activities will become limited. Can't we hold hands and give solutions?

Also a second question if I may. Some frogs are considered sentinel species since they are exquisitively sensitive to microenvironment changes. I don't know if we already know why many frogs have disappear, the last time I checked there were many theories. Now I wonder if there are any other sentinel species and if some of them are of interest to scientists researching global warming. I wonder for example if any Foraminifera are considered sentinels. Thanks.

Consider these Facts from Popular Almanac for kids. Here's what's in a Landfill-Metal 9%, Plastic 7%, Food 9%, Glass 8%, Yard waste 20%, Paper Products 40%, Random garbage (i.e. Broken golf club or beat up Teddy Bear). Could not most if not all of this waste be Recycled or Re-used? Like using yard waste and certain types of food to make compost or Generate Elecrticity.

The ubiquitous recycling bins are everywhere.

I have to go past a huge line of them to the supermarket where everything is over-packaged (i normally walk to the shops for simple groceries). I think some recycling schemes don't make sense because we have to support fleets of lorries collecting the stuff and burning fuel and creating pollution etc.

Surely it would more make more sense to try and think of not producing the stuff in the first place.

Go to any third world country to see really efficient recycling (I am not advocating the methology).

Wasn't that the name of the "lake" they found that they are going to have to "drill" 1 mile through ice to reach an environment that may/may-not be prehistoric? Any word on how that project is proceeding?
