Also a second question if I may. Some frogs are considered sentinel species since they are exquisitively sensitive to microenvironment changes. I don't know if we already know why many frogs have disappear, the last time I checked there were many theories. Now I wonder if there are any other sentinel species and if some of them are of interest to scientists researching global warming. I wonder for example if any Foraminifera are considered sentinels. Thanks.

The dramatic retreat of northern glacier like here in Alaska. For 100 years, some have retreated tens of miles.

Global sea level rises are indisputable and NOT mostly due to melting ice caps (that comes later this century). But simply due to the water expanding from being, on average, warmer.

There are trees growing now, 50-100 miles north of the former treeline. Where both paleontological and oral-histories say they haven't been for many thousands of years.

Frogs? I lean towards hormone mimics released by humans (agriculture, drugs, sewage, etc) making for gender-bender she-males that can't reproduce. That and the negative synergy of multiple pesticides. There are cases where 1 milligram of A and 1 milligram of B is far worse than 20 milligrams of either. And amphibians seem particularly prone that sort of exposure.

Beside frogs I would look at snakes in southwest as they are hardy, as for thing that are so sensitive I would agree on tree molds, lichen and the like.
