Does anyone know how the water of certain beaches are bright blue?

This has been bugging me and my boyfriend.....any answers will be helpful....thanks

We thought maybe it gets treated....or maybe people are actually clean...but why is it only certain beaches or parts? How does it stay clean?

Because,when photons(light rays) falls on the water,they get scattered randomly and so different wavelengths of rays are produced .Since the blue has shorter wavelength,it can bee seen.This is the "Raman Effect"(a theory).In some cases,it can also be due to the blue algae present in the waterbeds and so they appears to be a blue blanket.In some countries,the water is in red,greeen and yellow too in color because of these algae..HEHEHE,but the beach will soon become black due to human activities of pollution ....beware and take care

Sea water is not pure what. You know this...undoubtedly you've noticed that in some places the water seems to be brigh blue...in other places green...and in other places murky brown and almost black. The color of water is clear...almost transparent. When you see color in water you are seeing light reflecting off of the minerals that are dissolved in the water. If water depth is too much then correpondingly darkness of water increases.

If water is dirty then different colours we notice the most common being green due to excessive salt.

My guess is because they aren't all polluted. Either that, or they are in areas that don't have a lot of heavy wave action, which would stir up sediment and cloud the water.
