I I have decided that I want to be a teacher. I believe I need a B.S. in Elementary Education because I want to teach somewhere around 5th and 6th grade. What else do I need to do? Does anyone know of a few helpful websites?

Which is a less workload--working at walmart, or working as a teacher at school (1/3 of the year is break so I am guessing a teacher has less workload?)

I attend a small (less than 100 members) non-denominational Christian church. I help once a month with the Sunday school program. The lady who organized the curriculum and united all the teachers has recently left. Any ideas on good curriculum and/or other ideas when you're working with anyone from 3 years up to 5th grade in one room at the same time? There's no consistent behaviors and/or discipline policies between volunteer teachers. There aren't many resources and no copier on site. Thanks. I appreciate all suggestions.

My parents and I were recently discussing a newspaper article written about a parent who was enraged with her son's history teacher for giving the boy a failing grade on a term paper because the entire thing was written in "text speak" (LOL, idk, omg, ur, etc.). The mother claims that the teacher had no right to fail the paper because it was written for a history class, not an English class. The teacher argued that in school, regardless of the subject, students should use proper English, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Your thoughts?

My friend claims to have a 4.25 GPA, but straight "A"s are supposed to be 4.0, so is she pulling my leg? Can teachers give more than an A? I remember getting an A+ in American Government, but still was not more than 4.0 as I recall.

I posted on here saying that I was a teacher and this person went on this huge insulting rant about how teachers won't allow vouchers and how our schools are so bad and teachers are overpaid and underworked. Are they just jealous that we have summer's off? I am a teacher because I LOVE kids and my job takes a LOT of patience. If you have never even been a teacher then how can you be so critical?

Another thing, I am a human, and on this forum I make jokes and I get mad sometimes. Just because I am not PERFECT does not mean I am not qualified to do my job.

Hi every body
I have a problem that summons attention of all those who really care for the education of our young ones. We very honestly solve different problems of our children on Yahoo answers where every body is free to participate. I have recently found that there was a homework problem of Mathematics given by some student. It was a bit complicated one. I found many solutions in the yahoo answers. Except for two answers, other were either wrong or not serious ones. After a few days I found that a WRONG solution was selected by voters to be the best. I have nothing to say against the people’s verdict. But as a teacher I am really concerned with the fate of Students who consider these solutions to be authentic. Will they not be misguided? I would request all the wise persons who really care for our young generation to come forward with some feasible solution and request Yahoos to consider it.
