It wasn't until I got into college that I was taught (correctly) that communism is an economic system and that a dictatorship was a kind of government.... two totally different things...

Why are schools still brainwashing kids to be anti-everyone except the USA?

In the play, "Taming of the Shrew" would you consider Katherine fully tamed, or is she just playing along with Petruchio's game?

I believe that a good education and the road to high esteem start at home with the parents. But since I am only 13, I believe that as an educator girl, it will be my job to reach out to anybody that doesn't get their foundation at home.

I have a class that learns about the unexplained things in life and this week we're learning about love potions. I know that's not an unexplained thing in life, but it is part of the bizarre, which we also learn about that. This time I don't want to give the kids a worksheet and then they watch a video. I want something else. Can someone help me think of something that I can give them as activities? I was thinking about them making a fake love potion. But I don't know what materials to use...

What would you hope they would learn from you so their lives are successful, insofar as you are able to influence them?

And: what personal qualities should a teacher have which makes it all work?

thank you

... in school or university. Or other teachers like music or dance teachers. What do you think makes a great teacher. Or even a great guru? Please say why?

The reason I ask is that there is so much discussion in the air about civilisation falling and the parallel fall in the level of education. I decided to ask a few questions and see how people who really like their teachers think about the whole subject.

Thank you for whatever you wish to share!

ok im in a bit of a fix..

my professor is really old and tenured, and "set" in his ways so to speak...to top it off he' asian (they tend to be strict and dont listen)..

but his class is terrible. Neither myself or my classmates understand what it is that he is attempting to teach (ancient Chinese metaphysics and religion) and there are no good books on the subject. The tests are confusing even with the instructor's study guide. The bad part is that he designed the course, and because he is a dept official it isn't just going to disappear, what is worse is that there are no other options for people within my major, essentially myself and my peers are forced to take the course.

when I go to ask for help he simply changes the topic, or gives out review sheets which just confuse us more. I think he means well, but he's really confusing and doesn't listen to his students.
