You don't become a genius, you either are or you are not.

Reading books and watching educational TV shows may help a little, but I doubt the Internet is going to do much in terms of raising IQ significantly.

I don't think you can become a genius just by reading - books, internet, whatever. Part of being intelligent is being able to apply what you learn to new situations. Critical thinking is also an invaluable skill (there are some interesting blogs out there about critical thinking and skeptical thinking, you may want to look some of those up - I won't tell you where they are, a genius should be able to find them on his/her own!).

Simply knowing lots of facts might earn you lots of money on Jeopardy, but it does NOT make you intelligent or a genius.

A real genius is one who knows how to escape from this dangerous world forever! There are distinct signs that world war III is going to happen soon, and most of us will have to go through much hardships!
By having these "genius"politicians and scientists ruling this world, such is the bleak prospect.Education nowadays is leading people to become greedy economists, dangerous chemical engineers, politicians of egoistic character,as there are no divine guides to show them the way.
False religionists are advising them, and so the world is now a dangerous place to live in.
Better concentrate on spiritual knowledge, which will make your child a better person, who will be able to flee from this material world for good. The spritual world is the goal of wise people.

I'd say avoid the internet. Websites rarely have the sort of sustained, deep level of information necessary to give you a thorough education in any subject. Books are a much, much better way to learn, as is direct teaching from a knowledgeable party. To some extent using the internet and developing good book-reading habits are orthogonal, and the latter is absolutely indispensable for becoming frickin' smart.
