I'd instil strong and abiding values like Honesty and Integrity, and all other character traits which would make them good , upright adults.
In addition, I would teach them Financial Intelligence: that is something hardly ever taught in educational institutions! How to be financially free!!!---to do what they like, when they like, and how they like!
Robert Kiyosaki 's book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" does a spendid job!
With financial freedom available to the future adults, they can truly make a difference to others in this world. whether it be building good schools, hospitals, super-speciality treatment centers, stadia, or helping poor, illiterate children, orphans, or ailing old folks, or building Churches and Temples, they have a choice!
Ultimately, we must give back to society what we were grateful to have received!
That, in my opinion, would be what is most satisfying for me to teach.

Values such as honesty, respect for elders, punctuality and similar things. But before imparting these I would ensure that I also have these values to set an example.

an urge to gain knowledge and have fun too. instead of only studying. all time book worms do not gain knowledge. they just get through the exam for next level. kids who gain knowlege are those who concentrate and learn and understand what is taught and what is read. and i want the kids to have fun too because thats the age for them to have fun not after having a family of thier own where responsibilities increase.
only study and no play will surely not keep the kid happy.
i want kids to be ready to learn new things. it will serve good in their future. and i want kids to feel there is nothing impossible.
