Honey, it doesn't offend me a bit if you think I'm ugly. I'm a middle-aged lady, in good physical shape because I work at it, but I am not a beauty and never have been. I am a very good teacher, though. I am clean and well-groomed, and I wear clothing that is comfortable and allows me to participate in physical activities. (I teach little kids, and we are very active.) Fashion and make-up are irrelevant to doing my job well.

If you want someone who is good to look at, open a fashion magazine, turn on the television, or go to the movies. If you want to learn something, go to school. Don't expect a supermodel to teach you, and don't expect a teacher to look like a supermodel.

Teachers are people. They are not "ugly" because of their profession! I am not offended by your question. I am actually sorry that you feel this way. I did not know that the looks of a person can dictate if they are competent at their job!

As far as the way we dress.... we have a dress code... as do most professionals. We are working, not trying to find a date! We are not trying to impress students, we are trying to teach them so they can be a productive part of our society.

Unfortunately, I guess the entertainment business reaches students more than we teachers are able to, hence your question!

Dear 2QUT: Here's a solution for you. Before you take a class, ask your oh-so-gorgeous advisor if you can see a picture of the instructor. Then you can decide whether you want to take the course. Then when you graduate with your summa *** laude degree in cuteness, make sure you get a job where you're the boss of totally beautiful people and you're making a zillion dollars a years. Then you can donate all that money to your alma mater and tell them that the money is to hire only cute instructors. Then when you return in 25 years, all the undergraduates will ask, "Whose the ugly old broad with all the money? Think she spanks the monkey?"

Where's the highly written (that doesn't make sense by the way) college leveled (incorrect grammar) question? Show it to me and I'd be happy to oblige to the best of my abilties, in the mean time, learn to write a sentence.

You will probably get a lot of intelligent answers, but it is unlikely you will understand them..Why don't you concentrate more on the issues at hand like learning to spell and sentence structure, instead of whining about something that is not important. You are in danger of becoming a vacuous bubble head.
PS. not a teacher.

school is not a fashion show or a beauty competition. teacher's are doing a job. i am not offended, i am wondering where you have been educated that you don't know the answer to your own question. teachers have a dress code, too. teachers aren't dressing to impress their students. they are supposed to follow their rules and do their jobs. oh, and deal with children like you who appear to lack manners and common sense.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." The way the students come to class these days, I don't know how anyone could complain about the teachers.

Its because they have no life! Who would want to stay in a small cramped smelly room filled with bratty little kids? seriously...all the stress probably gets to them and effects how they look. Like they probably have bad breath because they have been chuggin down coffee all day to relieve stress and they dress funny because they need to dress casual for work (but nobody cares! they just do it to look more mature than the kids they teach). SO THERE YOU GO! LOL
