To Clarify: a student turns in an "A" paper, but it was late, so the student receives a "C" instead. Is that legal? If not, which specific statute can be used to argue against that policy? thanks.

There have been 3 school shootings lately and possibly more not televised.... does this make any of you think twice about how you teach or whether you want to continue to teach? I teach 8th gr. and located by Red Lake, Mn where last year a kid shot and killed about 8 people. I am sickened by these recent events but vow to keep teaching. What do you think teachers?

My employer recently gave me a small first grade class to teach, for both English and Math.

However, I'm not too sure what to give. Knowing me, I might accidentally give material that's too high for their level, no matter how simple it may actually be.

So, please help. What are somethings I can teach/do in class, for English/Math on the first grade level?

This teacher that i assist for somedays, in class, she's all nice and stuff to me. Other days, she seems to find ways to piss me off. When she's alone out in the hall, she'll speak to me. But when she's with her teacher friend, she just stares at me.

I'm one of her assistants, and she has another assistant in that class with me. But, she always has to send me to do errands for her and grade most of the stuff that she needs graded. Lately, she'll make me mad at how she acts towards me, then there'll be days when she'll be really nice and thank me. Why does she do this?

I have tried the c and k rule, but skate defies that one. Then we thought sk was used before long vowels and sc before short, but scare, sketch, and scene don't work. If there is a rule, I would love to know it to teach it to my students so that they can spell their words correctly!
