1.How old is your mother?
2.I'm afraid that your mother is hard to get along with.

Q2:
A: Something terrible happened to Gertrude's cat.

A widow and a widower married- they each have a daughter from different marriages.I teach them both. yesterday the couple had a son. Both girls are terrified and insecure that they wont be accepted anymore. Its been heartbreaking enough for them already.what can i as a teacher do to help them to deal with this?

I already told them that, we must wait to see how their parents handle the situation, but for now, everyone will pay attention to the baby-that's normal.trouble is that the child is a boy and in India-that can spell disaster for these precious girls...boys are considered a gift of God here and girls are just plain trash in MANY families.

I really want to help them.PLZ some serious advice.....

How are we meant to bring children up with wonderful imaginations when everything that can inspire them is being banned? Even if some references in the book could be taken in a different way to how they are meant, surely it is better to let the children see this rather than shelter them until they reach the big bad world of grown ups? There is nobody there to shelter you then so I say let the children read all the amazing books that have been banned like 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and 'James and the Giant Peach'. Who agrees? If not, what are your views?

I teach 7th and 8th grade. I teach a remedial reading class, most of the kids in my class this quarter are 8th graders and most of them are on a 4th grade reading level. I've bent over bakwards and have tried all types of things, but they just don't care. They refuse to do the work, they'll just sit there and look off into space. If they do the work they can move rapidly and be on there proper reading level. I've called home to parents and that works for a day or so. My class is considered an elective for these students and they know this, so they don't think that its important. What would your next step be? Would you just say bump it, i've tried and they don't care , or would you continue to push on?what else is there for me to do ?
