how to put together an essay on reflecting on my self as a learner, how to pass on my experience though teaching.

This woman approached me in some distress. She was once a student at this skills training centre for women. She was so good at her knitting and handcrafts the management decided to make her a teacher in exactly these subjects.

She is now teaching her former classmates. They view her with some resentment, and refuse to follow her orders. They tease her for being illiterate, old and childless (They are 20 years younger than her, she's around 40, I didn't like to ask, but her students (and former classmates) are in their late teens and early 20s)

I suspect jealousy is a factor, but how can matters be resolved for this woman? From what I see, she's an excellent teacher, but the students are just impossible to her.

I had the results of my first teaching observationn today and receieved "M"'s (meets standard ) on all categories but one. I received an "I" ( need improvement ) in one category - having to do with learning environment.
The VP was very positive and said not to be concerned, only the year end one matters ( I have two more) and gave me some classroom layout suggestions and strategies that seem very good.
But - is an "I" something to be concerned about?

Some of them, by personal experience, expects the class to already know the meaning of what is being taught and never uses any learning techniques. Just VERBATUM!

Like spelling a word can you do it from pronounciation or do you memorize it.Or like ability to multiple inside your head while others actually have to use a caculator?Or natural ability to draw. But while others just learn technique.Or like in sports, running in track, winning a race, just because of natural ability?

My husband is an art teacher.(1-12 grades)
I teach his students about Chinese characters and writing in class. Which part of Chinese culture or art you think it's good to learn? (word, writing, language, art, tea, manner...)
I don't push them to memorize Chinese just introduce them different culture and spirit...I think kids who respect the other cultures will be respected too.

I'll be starting to teach a couple of chapters on oral communication over the next couple of weeks (meets once/wk). I have a pretty good idea what I'd like to cover, but I'm wondering if you have any tips:

The most common mistakes you see in oral communication?
Possible in-class activities to help stress the most important points (and to keep their interest, of course)?

Thanks.
