Teach him as many languages as you can. The younger they are the easier it is to teach them because they don't think anything about it. As they get older they develop prejudices and it is not as easy to pick up.
I am partial bi-lingual. My parents are fluent in french. I learn to speak both English and french at the same time. When I started kindergarten I didn't want anything to do with the french language because I was the only one that knew it and I didn't want to be different then everyone else so I repressed the language.
However, to this day I understand french almost as well as I understand English, but I can't speak it. So therefore your son will retain what you teach him.
Anyone that tells you teaching him another language does not know what they are talking about!!
There have been studies on this and you can ask any bilingual person.

I think speaking as many languages as possible around him is great! French, English and Spanish all are very important and widely spoken languages. Think of the advantages he'll have! :) He is a very lucky boy. I think that since you're living in Mexico City, Spanish would be most essential for now, but yes, you should keep teaching him French and English too. My teacher is from Hungary (like my own great-great grandmother) and she speaks German, French, Spanish, English and Hungarian. She is teaching some of it all to her son.

My wife speaks japanese. I speak English. We were told by a speach patholigist, when my daughter was born, That if mom only speaks japanese and dad only speaks english, by the time she is 5 she will be bilingual. I wish I spoke as much japanese as she does. She is also learning a bit of spanish from the neighbors. I can't think of a better education to give a very young child. Teach him French and english at home so he can speak to his grandparents when he sees them

Teach all three... it will benefit him in most scenarios... I speak both English and Spanish however I think a third language is more of a benefit for him since he can communite to a large group of people with three languages, then just two or one language.

you should teach him all three. speak enlish and french at home and spanish in public. Children absorb this kinda stuff easily at that age. Your son will be speaking all three and be able to learn more languages later in life. That is an awesome thing to provide him. Don't force it but let it come naturally.

My son was 2 years old when he had to learn and use Taiwanese, Chinese, English and Romanian at the same time. He never got confused. He knew what words to choose for a certain language by instinct. Trust your child, he is smarter than you think he is.

Don't confuse the child he's only 3. He should learn whatever language you and your husband generally speak for now, wait till he's a little older.

make sure he has a good solid ground in one language. which that would be the mother´s language. and until he has grasped the context on his mother language, then and only then he´ll be able to ¨sponge¨ any language. he will eventually grasp each of those languages. the question is, is he confident in using his mother language. don´t rush him. talk to him in french but let him watch english and spanish tv programming . don´t talk to him in spanish unless you´re very good at it. let kindergarden worry about that.

And you should. At young ages children pick up languages easily. Being multilingual will only help your child later in life. No knowledge is EVER a waste. Teach your child every language you can, as early as you can.

By all means, this is the age they soak it up as a sponge; and we all know Spanish is becoming the National Language.
