My husband is an art teacher.(1-12 grades)
I teach his students about Chinese characters and writing in class. Which part of Chinese culture or art you think it's good to learn? (word, writing, language, art, tea, manner...)
I don't push them to memorize Chinese just introduce them different culture and spirit...I think kids who respect the other cultures will be respected too.

The experience of China with attempts at land reform, in particular where Wang Mang went wrong.

Another topic that I like reading about is the Ming Dynasty treasure fleet of Zheng He. Some of the recent archaeology seems to be supporting stories that had been dismissed as fantastic, due to the loss of the majority of the Ming state records at the end of that dynasty.
