choose 5 things to put in box.for eg;hat, teddy, bag, doll and a brush.as each child pulls an item from the box they have to add a little onto the story that you began.so the lady in the HAT went for a walk and found a DOLL etc etc.each time you play you can change what is in the box,it will always be interesting that way,and whats best is there is no right or wrong.

I'm in school right now taking a break from grading. But here are the "Book Block" instructions and you can use it as a "story box". I don't have the site.

1. You will need poster board 25"x25".
2. With a ruler, make a mark on the edge every 5" on both sides of paper.
3. So you should have 3-5 inch blocks that make your ROWS on one side and 5-5inch blocks that make your COLUMNS on the other.
4. Number (lightly w/ pencil) each block on the top row 1-5. Write "paste here" on the number 2 block on the top row and write "underneath flap" the fifth block on the second row.
5. Cut out box one, three and five on the top row only.
6. Cut out box one, three and five on the bottom row. It will look like intersecting strips with the second row completely in tact.
7. Now fold the flaps up and assemble. You will see were they will draw their story.

It sounds harder than it really is and it is very worth it. We are going to do it with books they have read. One side will say the title, author and picture representing the book and the other side will be pictures sequencing.

Good luck :)

I don't know what you mean by a story box...but I have just finished my teaching degree and a website I used HEAPS for making games etc. is Carl's Corner, just google it - it is freaking amazing. Good luck with your studies.

Check out this site:
www.eslcity.com
There are tons of games and activities; the webmaster would even design a game for you if you provide him with the idea.
