I am a senior in college, going to be an early childhood teacher. I am stressed beyond belief and I don't know which way to turn. I need to hear from any teacher's out there that I will make it through this. Any words of advice or encouragement would greatly be appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.

I am a Social Science major (senior) at San Diego State University in California. I would ultimately like to become a Professor, but I don't know what Masters degree I should peruse. I am thinking about Public Policy. Is there anyone out there who has this graduate degree? Is any one in my situation? Does any one have a Suggestion? Please give me some advice.

I am teaching middle school English/ Literature and Journalism. I need to create a quiz for my classes. Are they any highly recommended websites that would assist me in this process? I don’t mind paying, as long as it’s worth my money. I would like to create quizzes/tests and maybe keep track of students work and progress.

Has anyone used this program by Michael Clay Thompson? Anyone like it? I test my son on the lists weekly, and wondered what anyone else thought about the program.

Its only the beginning of the year and I already have a teacher that I feel is against me. I think he just doesnt understand my attitude and humour. But I said a couple of things that made me stand out, but it wasnt vulgar or inappropriate, the people around me found it amusing. He just gave me a very confused look eventhough he calls himself a fun and upbeat teacher. Well, from then on, he has treated me very differently. Everytime I talk, even about serious and professional things where I am not joking, he gives me a confused look. It makes me uncomfortable. How can I change how he sees me? I want to be respected but still have some fun.

I need to teach stress and stress management to adults as part of an induction. Its a struggle to engage with them and I was wondering if anyone knew of a simple game that can be played in a classroom without computers, that is designed to increase stress levels so that I can demonstrate how stress can escalate. Am also wanting to use it as a bit of an icebraker so as to encourage class participation.

anyone else get extremely irratated when teachers exploit their authority?!?!!?

they totally take advantage by forcing pupils to do loads of un nesscessary things like punishing the whole class for a few people messing around or whatever! it does my head in!! and like when i come two MINUTES late for class and the teacher freaks out and shouts which is completely un-nesscessary i mean if it were an adult class they wouldnt be like that so why the hell should children get treated like this just cause the teacher is feeling a bit grumpy!?!?!?!

WHY THE HELL SHOULD THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE IT OUT ON US?!?!?!

if you are in a class room and the teacher sees you talking they often shout at you before you can explain what your talking about. i think this is wrong as you can not shout back. i think that they should treat us students with respect as that is the only way that we will respect them. please tell me what you think. am i right to feel this way?

I just found out that as per our new school calendar and new staff handbook, I am losing 5 holiday/vacation days, 2 personal days and 1 professional day compared to last school year. Do you think that this is just how the cookie crumbles and I should just deal with it or should a school include in their teachers' contracts the total number of days they are expected to work so that it could be reflected in the salary.

when told that the U.S. Civil War was about the issue, slavery?

Think about it...the Quakers were among the few who actually practiced what they believe concerning equality. Was it (the civil war) really about economic and political power? Is there some merit to the South's position that the true issue was about states' rights? Was it really a 'War between the States?' Was slavery just a convenient issue to undermine the economic base of the South and potentially the West (whose economic interest align more w/ the south)? Was the focus on the morality of slavery just an excuse for the North to claim the 'high ground'/justification for their actions?

No moralizing. No endless monologues. Remember K.I.S.S (Keep it Simple Stupid)
