Assuming you have a clean police record and the proper education and credentials, it is largely a question of supply and demand mixed with a little bit of who you know and how hard you work. My advice is a) apply for posiitons before you graduate (most schools start the interview process around March some as early as January)--early bird gets the worm b) volunteer at schools you are interested in working for--this shows you are a team player and helps establish relationship between you and adminstration c) substitute (this will help you build a good reputation) d) keep trying!

Good science teachers are scarce, especially those who can teach both the physical and biological sciences. You will have no problem landing a good job. In fact, I would say you will have several offers, all of which will give you nice choices. Good luck!

its pretty easy to get a job teaching science if you are credentialed, since it is a subject in high demand.

I think it mostly depends on who you know. There are lots of politics within the school systems.
