I really want to become a college professor. I was wondering do you have to be a high school teacher first or what else to give you experience?

I will soon be a new Spanish teacher. Where do you all find your little books that have worksheets: pages about the countries (maps, flags, cultures, etc), worksheets that go with the lesson plans, etc.? Also, does your school provide you with the big maps of Latin America? (or whatever language area you teach?) any other things that you must buy from your pocket or use from your school budget to buy for the class?

I teach 4th grade. Labor Day is coming fast, which means 1st day of school is getting closer and closer. I have learned sooo much from other teachers, and most of what they know they also "stole" from other teachers... you know what I mean. ;)

My question is, most teachers, if not all of them, have that "one thing" they are so glad they picked up or learned/stole from someone else that helps them every day. Whether it was organization, classroom management, grading, filing, how to deal with parents, whatever- what was it for you? Email me after you answer, and I'd be glad to tell you mine!

Let's help each other out.

I am taking Children's Literature this semester and we have to read 75 children's books and do a sample activity with each book. Can you please give me some names of books that you or your class has really enjoyed over the past few years. I will need books that are from the range of Pre-K through the 5th grade. Thanks!

a professor that I am interested in?
- he is 2 yrs. older than me
- he is Not married
- he is a part time VL
- I'm a grad student
- I felt that we have a lot in common
I felt like we clicked but I'm scared to initiate anything. He's not even teaching next semester. Guys or Prof., what the best way for a girl to approach you in this type of a situation?
