freshmen year i took intergerated math 1 and
sophmore year i took geometry and
junior year i'm taking alegbra 2.

and in order to pass highschool you need to take alegrba 1.

and the school is deciding that the intergrated class i took isn't going to count as Alegrba 1 so they want me to take either.

algbra 1 or 2, and then it will count.

currently i'm enrolled for alegbra 2 but i forgot everything about some stuff in alegbra like radicals and how to simply and such.

so i don't know if i should go and retake alegbra 1 JUNIOR year or just continue with the class i'm taking.. which is alegbra 2 and stuggle with it.

I'm starting back at my PGCE this coming year (had to leave half way through due to an acute illness), and thought this would be the perfect forum for improving this area of professionalism. Some ideas on reward systems (mature versions) for secondary pupils are also welcome. Thank you...

I was applying to working with an in-home tutoring company and the guy said that there are only positions for P/T tutors. I am not sure what is stands for, but my main focus is on children or those specifically with special needs...does that ring any bells for anyone?

I've been a teacher for over 22 years, mostly at the second grade level. Recently, I accepted a position (and signed a contract) for a high school English position. It was a nightmare job- like working as a jail guard. I went from teaching the alphabet to teaching "thugs" who came to class high, had tattoos and piercings all over their body, had no respect for anyone and who refused to do any work at all and did nothing but interrupt the class. I obviously do not have the rapport to work with this age level. I miss my 6 year olds. I cannot do this. The principal said that the board would probably not let me out of my contract. I do feel bad about leaving them high and dry, but I just don't feel like I can teach this level. I have had a substitute for the last 3 days, as I feel I cannot take it even one more day. In Texas, if you break your contract, they can suspend your teaching certificate for a year. I am depressed and need advice.
