One of my good friends depants (not underwear) a boy in fun as a joke...OMG, she got 1 week out-of-school suspension and was kicked off the volleyball team (which is her life)....We are in 8th grade and everyone is mad!!! Even the boy that was depantsed thinks it is too harsh! We are thinking about forming a protest (peaceful of course)...Is there anything else we can do?

I was wondering if anyone could think of any fun, semi-educational, wholesome activities for campers from grades 4-9 for a one-hour session. Low-budget ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

Please, only serious ideas. My school has just set up a Student School Improvement Group (SSIG) and we have to come up with some ideas, so I thought I'd put it out there to any suggestions. Cheers

I am a mom of 2. My daughter is 14 and my son is 9. When my daughter was younger she loved school and was a pretty good student getting mostly A's and a few B's. When my son started school it was obvious to his teachers that he was well ahead of other students his age. When he hit 2nd grade they started talking about him being in the gifted and talented program and my daughter started to have problems at about the same time. In 3rd grade he was placed in the gifted program and started doing the same grade level work his sister was doing and it seemed like she started to just give up on school. Since that time her grades have really slipped to B's, C's, and D's. When we ask her about her grades she says she is stupid or that she isn't smart like her brother. Now for my question, what can I do to help her realize her potential? I tell her all the time how proud I am of her and that she is so smart she can do anything if she puts her mind to it but it doesn' help. Any suggestions?

I'm turning 15 and I'll be going into 9th grade this school year. It will be my first day of school(ever) as I've been homeschooled my entire life. Does anyone have any tips, like on what to expect or look out for? Also, I'm very shy. Is there some way I can get over that?

Have you sent your child to private school and had to work extra hours or another job to pay for the school. We are thinking of doing this for our daughter and wondered how hard it will be to afford the fees? We are not well off, I am an office manager, my husband is a manager so we are not loaded but we want the best for our daughter.

The schools around our area are shocking in terms of performance and this private school is absolutely fantastic.

I'm looking for fun, interactive ideas to help them to learn all the parts of speech (noun, pronoun, verb, adverb, adjective, conjunction, preposition, interjection, article, etc.). I really would like them to know them ALL by the time they leave for second grade and they're doing really well BUT I would like to make it really sink in for them. Any ideas??

My school is a catholic school thats why very conservative. By the way my school ID was confiscated and the only way for me to retrieve it is to give an excuse letter/ apology letter. but the thing is im not good at that. I need a formal letter though. So can anybody help me with this? tnx in advance!

My school got the Blue Ribbion award. This was not only for our academic achievemants but we have an Agriculture Science program no one else in the county has, also our music and art departments are amazing. But now they are making the students next year choose between music, art, or agriculture. They may only take one along with P.E. and heatlh. This is not fair at all. This shouldnt be done! The younger kids should have the same oppertunities i had! Shouldn't we be saving the music and art? I have a pretty solid case against them (the school board) and plenty of reasons and people on my side. Would you stand up for this?
