My school got the Blue Ribbion award. This was not only for our academic achievemants but we have an Agriculture Science program no one else in the county has, also our music and art departments are amazing. But now they are making the students next year choose between music, art, or agriculture. They may only take one along with P.E. and heatlh. This is not fair at all. This shouldnt be done! The younger kids should have the same oppertunities i had! Shouldn't we be saving the music and art? I have a pretty solid case against them (the school board) and plenty of reasons and people on my side. Would you stand up for this?

As a retired teacher I say yes you have every right as students to have more of the elective courses you like. Education should encompass all areas of study not just those the school board deems they want. We are talking electives here not required subjects, I want to make that clear.

By the students electing a small group of spokespersons to represent the student body they should attend school board meetings and at the proper time present your concerns and desires. Have your information in written form as well to present to the board. Be ready to answer any questions they may ask. Be polite at all times and do not argue with them. Dress well and be neat.

If the school board refuses to listen to you at the proper time or does not want to consider what you desire then consult your parents and campaign to have those board members removed from their positions. It is your school and as such you should have some say as to what is taught. When you go in don't do it with a chip on your shoulder or ready to argue with them; that will get you nowhere. Use proper channels and have them removed by getting parents to vote them out of their positions.

On the other hand if they do consider and like your proposals thank them and offer to assist in developing the subjects you desire.

Good luck

Do it! Who else is going to care more suitable than the parent? no longer each youngster is alike and by technique of providing such guidelines, they say a baby is largely able to concentration on one among those at a time even as there is babies which could flourish on multi-arts and perhaps a baby in agriculture needs a music outlet. I particularly have 2 very inventive babies. One is amazingly a lot an artist in her drawing skills and photographer skills. the different is a innovative artist in her construction of statues and moldings - yet is amazingly astounding in drama. She received an Arts scholarship, Theater scholarship and a psychology scholarship. those have paid for her first year and could proceed to pay for the subsequent 2 more suitable years of faculty. How unfair is it now to not furnish those possibilities to all. If it were no longer for the scholarships, she does no longer manage to attend college. wrestle for those - you'll supply babies the threat by technique of doing so. Sadi

I agree with you as well. You seem to have a great deal of passion for this and good for you! The problem is it is probably a funding issue that is out of your control. You should definatly state nyour case and be proud that you are standing up for children and education.Goodd luck!

A school is supposed to give as many people as many options as possible.

On the other hand it could be a funding problem.

So I'd support you, but I do see the logic of the other side very clearly.
