Hope you know what a magnet school is.
Its a school where only smart students or academically intelligent students go.
My GPA is a 3.1, if i get a's and b's for the coming years or a's will that help my gpa.

My school is one of the toughest schools (academically not drugs and violence and all that) in the southeast. It is on the list for the best 20 high schools in america.
IS A 3.1 gpa there any good at all

This past week the schools in our town sent home this letter to everyone.

Starting tomorrow if your child does not have enough money in his/her meal account they will be given a granola bar and a milk (no exceptions).

Am I not the only one who does not think this is right?

With all that left over food they have after each class is feed, they could atleast send the parent of the child a warning letter and a give him/her a free meal that day.
I am sure there are parents out there that may forget to the send the meal check in with their child on Monday and get it there on Tuesday, instead .

I just feel that with a child having a 6 1/2 hour day at school a granola bar and a milk is just not enough for a young child.

Your thoughts?

I am currently going to a magnet school (high school) which has 300 students in it. It has some sports like tennis and soccer but in my sophomore year, i want to play football and my grades in my magnet school are a's, b'b and c's.
I have a hard biology class but i am deciding and this decision is very very hard.
Negatives and Positives

My Magnet school
+less students
+good chance of getting to college
+safe campus
+not very many fights
-Not alot of american sports, no baseball, football or basketball.
-The students have bad temper and get attitudes
- classes are very very hard and lots of homework

Regular school
+ all the sports i like
+ easier classes in which i can probably maintain a 4.0 average (my magnet school average is 3.1)
+ I heard not that many students there have attitudes and its in a safe county
- Drug sells
- lots of Bi people there
- large campus 1600 students
- too many asian kids

School choice creates competition. Competition made this country great and would revoulutionize our terrible government school system. What's so scary?

I have a teacher who is really mad at me for 'disrupting her class' now she is completely ignoring me. I ask for help and she replys with some kind of crap answer. Like "I'm not going to feed you answers." When I don't know something she wont help. I tried to talk about this problem she refused to talk about It. I'm failing her class beacuse she wont help.

I have been thinking about this question alot lately. As a 16 year old sophmore, I have gone through countless of school assemblies teaching the danger of drugs and the immorality of cheating. But, at the end of the day, when I see kids jokign around about it, I have to wonder...do this things really worK?
I would like very honest answers about this, as I am considering writing a school news article on teh subject. ALSO, if anyone knows of any websites that I can get data that relates to this, I would really appreciate you telling me :)

I'm still amazed that my kids schools don't have some sort of security protection besides a few hidden cameras. You can just simply walk up to the door, walk in and if your a bad guy/girl who knows what can very easily happen! There's bouncers in bars yet no one to watch the schools during school hours when children are inside?

If we had to be in another part of the country or another country for a month... can you take your child with you and have them miss school? Obviously taking any school work with us and somewhat homeschooling them for that month or do we get a nanny and have them stay with him for a month? That seems like a long time away from our child and not necessarily cool with us... we also believe that traveling can be quite educational as well... but what is the rule?

Iam working as a contractual teacher in some reputed cbse school. The parents, students and teachers are attracted toward this school by its fake name.It has its branches in almost all the cities of india. There is nothing of the kind of stuff found inside the school which people and employees imagine of and get attracted. The important thing is that the permanant teachers also get similar kind of treatment as that of contractuals. There is no hope as the Principal is totally out of her senses. The most important thing is that noone can complain against her since she and her husband are having their own contacts with various higher officials in this administration. There is noone except God to teach her a lesson. Moreover we cant form an unity against her since almost all the employees are afraid of losing their jobs or almost of increased intensity of torture. She is bigblot on this noble profession. Please guide what to do to bring her on the right track while inservice and while outofservice
