My school is great, the teacher of mine is nice, I have lots of friendsand I have good grades. The cafetaria food is so nasty, but I packed my own lunch. I love gym because I can play differents sports. My homework is easy to me, I'm in high school right now. I go to differents clubs at my school. Whats so bad about school.

Can a school punish a child for not doing homework in junior school, or is it optional and therefore unenforceable?

I'm a psychologist in a school, and lately it seems like students don't want to go to school, don't care about their education, and don't ever turn in homework. I've got a 17-20 page list of students who are failing classes (not just one class, some are failing 5 out of 7). I'm young (25), but when I was in school, I don't remember the majority of people hating to go to school, and I don't remember teachers having problems with school work (maybe its because I was a student at the time, but still, I didn't hear it from peers).
Does anyone know what kind of positive behavioral supports I can easily implement so late in the school year?

He has an 82 IQ (below average), reads at a 1st grade level, and likes to get out of class by whinning about how he feels sick or tired. He also lacks social skills because he's a 14 year old who acts like he's 8. When he is suspended, he likes it, so he tries to get suspended from school by skipping class. What can I do to get him to stay in class? I know reinforcers work, but is there anything else?

Reason being, my childs school is trying to retain my son and hearsay is that I can refuse this request. I need to know if anyone knows if this is true? If parents have the last say so or not?

I have been having a lot of family problems over this past school year. My grades have been barely passing and I can not bring myself to get up and go to school. I'm not really sure why I feel this way, maybe it is depression. I want to be a "normal" high school graduate with my diploma and all, but right now my mental heath is not agreeing with that route. So, my question is, if I were to get my GED and go to community college and work my way up to a better university, is there anything wrong with that? Why is there such a stigma attached to getting your GED? It just seems too easy to even be real. I am a smart person, I've liked school and been a good student my whole life, it is just the past few years have been really rough. I am a junior and really stuggling. I am ready to be done and move on with my life. I don't imagine that the GED test would be too hard to pass? About how long might it take to get? Would bad attendance in school effect it? Any info would be much appreciated.
