Well, uniforms solve many problems. Everyone looks the same, so there's no fuss over who doesn't have as much money as someone else. There's also no problems over whose skirt is too short, or who has a bad word written on their shirt. Uniforms can save people money since they don't have to buy nearly as many clothes for their children. Uniforms also show off a sense of pride and a confident air for your school.
On the other hand, if it's your last year of school, and you've been wearing uniforms all your life, than you probably should get a break. You need a chance to express your individuality, and show off your style. However, you don't want to take advantage of the no uniform thing by wearing inappropriate clothes. Belive it or not, a lot of the uniforms we wear really do keep us out of trouble and safe. If you wear flip-flops to school, you could easily get hurt especially if you're a younger child playing on the playground. By not wearing tight shirts, short skirts, and baggy shirts, we avoid getting involved with the wrong crowds and gangs. There are reasons why we wear uniforms, but I must admit I wouldn't want to wear them all the way through high school. By your last year of school, you should be mature enough to pick out school-apporapriate clothes that allow you to express who you tuly are.

Yes I do think children should wear uniforms. Wearing Uniforms has many advantages and benefits. The use of uniforms can prevent gang realated violence, very often gangs dress in similar colours. Apart from that, intergration of the student body is promoted. Some students can't afford to buy the latest clothing or the the newest nike's that just came out. In teenage society students are constantly judged by the clothes on their back. This can prevent some students from becoming "outcasts" or not included into the 'social scene'. Some teenage students like to wear offensive slurs on their shirts, althought this is fine under the first ammendment (freedom of speech and expression) this can arouse tension and offense on the part of other students and teachers attending the same school.
Also, Uniforms can prepare you for your future career. Often times, companys require their employees to wear uniforms. Wearing uniforms in school can get you accustomed to it in the future. Wearing uniforms is also economical and beneficial. For example, you don't have to worry about buying to new clothes to fit in or to impress a girl you like. Everyone wears the same thing. Wearing uniforms can also give you a sense of pride. If you enjoy attending that school or it has a well known reputation, people will know you are receiving a thorough education,or your smart because attaing admission to that school is a difficult and tedious task.
On the downside, If you do wear uniforms it can prevent you from "expressing yourself" threw fashion. Some people may feel more comfortable in their ordinary clothes because they may feel the uniform is not comfortable or does not suit them. In conclusion, althought many students do not realise it, uniforms have many advantages!

In my opinion, school uniforms are an affront to individuality. Parents, teachers and school district authorities need to take a lesson from nature. Nature abhors uniformity, because ultimately it leads to weakness, as evidenced by closed gene pools, where many, if not all, individuals contained within it are related. So, to think that individuals should dress or behave alike is patently ridiculous.
As long as students wear clothing that is not outlandish and/or disruptive of the classroom environment, then anything decent should be allowed. When I was in school our school district followed a fairly lenient dress code and I don't recall any dire consequences accruing to either the students or the school itself.

The core purpose for incorporating school uniforms is to level the students to one class of people. Dark uniformed sports teams and bold letter brands like Ecko, Nike, etc. are the choices of some gangs in inner city and suburban schools. They choose these jerseys and outerwear as a sign of their domination and existence.
In our school district, there is a uniform code that is strictly followed. No hoods, hats, gloves, headbands, etc. but each student must wear the issued school uniforms provided. This keeps recognition of certain groups to a minimum, not entirely invisible, but to a minimum. Gangs are prominent in our community, but not active in our school.
Younger children are raised to respect the school policy and wear the uniform everyday or else to return home. Shirts must be tucked in, colors down, without sweats or hoods to signal any underlying group or gang. It does work in our school and the students grow up without the fear and pressure of being, or not being, in a particular gang. That is the reason we abide by school uniforms.
