I can name quite a few 1st tiered schools, who can't.

What about second and third tier?... I think I hear of a 4th maybe.

Does some organizations does this classification or it just what colleges called each other?

Is there a list of this?

For college. Like is there a way that you can study your butt off and maybe pay to take a test. And if you pass that test, you get credited for it, and don't have to take the class? Just the standard general studies or something, and it'd be with a community college, unless you could do a university???

I took a class in statistics - twice. The first time the school had no tutors avaliable and I flunked that class- I accept that I flunked the class and that I would have to take the class over. Math is not my strong point and I accept that fact. The second time I took the class I worked with a tutor and turned in the homework each day during class. Two weeks after the class was ended, I got a call from the teacher wanting to know where my homework was - I thought he was joking ! I did not have copies of the homework - I turned it in, and I did not have a back up disk because I had worked with the tutor in the math lab and did not bring disks to the math lab. I am now stuck with a bill for over $1500.00 and a bad grade - even though I did the work!!! The school refuses to work with me on the matter - and has turned the bill over to collections. Is there a way I can sue the professor for causing this much headache in my life ?

I want to become a doctor. Then I would have to wait for 8 years to get a real job with my education. So I was thinking to take a 2 year program @ a community college for some medicine related course so that I could work while I study. But I just didn't know whether it is possible to do that.

I'm getting a PhD in English but so I'm sick of this field, sick of these classes. It feels so useless. I am determined to steer clear of academia after I graduate or simply shoot myself in the head. So I should leave my program, right? Only dilemma is that I've got just under 2 yrs left in my program AND I have no idea what I would pursue instead.

When people ask me what I would be doing if I had a million dollars, I say, not a d*mn thing.

What do I do with myself? I'm extremely unhappy.

It's been my dream since I was 10 to go to Princeton. I'm going into my sophmore year of high school. I'm playing violin, piano, a varsity sport, an out of school sport, humane issues club, french club, and hospital volunteer work... Much more than I did last year. I'm also taking 4 advanced classes this year, (I usually make all As and one or two Bs.) What else do I need to do to get into an ivy league school. Especially Princeton... I know you need good test scores, extracurriculars, and such, but is there anything else I need to know or should I still be doing more??

Any stories, help, comments would be useful...

Hi, I"m going to be working this year (at least for a while) and I will be working 10 hours a week. I will be taking 16 credit hours and I'll be a freshman. I have a math class on monday 8-9:15, a history class after in the same building, an environmental sci lab after that, and my environ class after that. i do not have a break on this day, but tuesday i don't start class until 9:30, and i don't have another class until 12:30 and it lasts until 1;45. wednesday i have thes same first two classes as monday and i have esci at like 2 until 3:15. thursday i have english and history and theres a big break between those and on wednesdays classes i end class at like 10:45 and have one more at 2. friday i don't have clases and saturday, or sunday. and i'll have plenty of time to study then. i'm not a partier so i believe ill have plenty of time to study... have any of you worked during college and how did it go, was it managable, how many hours did you have?

Even though my work experience is varied and rich; I am nonetheless lost in searching for adequate employment. I'd love to have a full-time job which I would be proud of and happy with.

I am having alot of trouble figuring out what I want to take in college. I had done Office Admin, but found sitting at a desk all day is kinda boring. I'd rather be doing something, I kinda like working at Tim Hortons more than where I am now lol. I've always wanted to be a pet groomer but Im not sure. I like animals, I like to work on cars n things, I like to try and help ppl, I think I need something thats not too overworked but something that I will enjoy doing later in life. I also liked comso when I was in highschool, though I didnt like to do perms lmao! If any of you can help me that'd be great or even if you know some links to a site that has some sort of multi qustionaire or something that could help give me an idea...thanks again.
