It is better than most of the other SUNY schools (about the same as Buffalo and not as good as Binghamton).
Most of the SUNY schools are better than any of the CSU schools -- but none of them are nearly as good as the worst UC school.
Take a dart & throw it at a map of the US & you will probably hit a state with a better university system than New York.

I see that elsewhere you are asking about Stony Brook's dental program. My comments here only apply to undergraduate programs. Dental School is a graduate program. My guess is that it is a very good program.

you're a ******* junior. in case you may get a 2000+ you are able to probable get into RPI and NYU.. Columbia does not be a waste of an appliation if u can ruin a 2200. dw plenty omfg. i've got been given a 1840 and stony is my secure practices... which im not thinking anymroe considering drexel is offering me 80k if i do nicely for 4 years undergrad

stony brook is ranked 7th in the united states as a public science school . it is very reputable for any kind of pre-health programs. it may not be as good as a uc school in general...but its a very well known school.
