I have been a student athelete my entire High School Career (and Even Before) I play Club Basket ball and Volleyball as well as Varsity Volleyball and Basketball at my School. My Problem is that sports take up ALOT of my time, so I dont have any other Extra- curricular activities. Does The College Admissions Recognize sports as a "good" extra-curricular?

I want to have a professional job like a teacher, doctor or a lawyer. I know I could become a teacher, but I am also dran to medicine and law. I like History and Politics, therefore I think I would do well in law school, but I am also drawn to the medical profession. I just don't think I would be able to handle medical school. So I'm looking for teachers, lawyers and doctors who can tell me what school was like and for the 2 last careers, what was your undergraduate studies and what was med/law school like?

I'm not talking about diploma mills.. take my case: i have worked in the mechanical engineering field for 30 yrs, but have only one yr of college.. no degree. i would like to finish school and get a degree, but here in california they do not as a rule allow credits for practical work experience.
i do not call myself an engineer as it is disrespectful of those who have ground thru 4 yrs of school to get that diploma...BUT on the other hand, i have so often had to hold my breath and bite my tongue and listen to a younger, very inexperienced engineer talk absolutely silly about something... i have my very stong points, like it would be absurd for me to have to take elementary drafting, as i have done it all my life, and could probably teach the course.. but i have my weak points, mainly advanced math and figuring moments of stress, etc, and i want to know are there any accredited schools that allow credits in a case like this...mainstream schools, not diploma mills....thanks

With an economics degree, does it give you writing skills which could be used in a journalism profession. Also does it give you the skills to be able to debate, ie. to be a MP? I am considering taking an economics degree, have you got links to sites with info on what you study in the course. also any info for history, politics and law? Thanks

I need help deciding what colleges I should apply to.

I'm currently a fifteen year old ready to go into my senior year of high school. I have 4.0 gpa, taken a few community college classes, done about 100 hrs comm. service at local library, started a savedarfur club on campus, and that's about it. I've never done any AP classes (don't know if my school has them), got 1990 SAT score, and want to be a bio major. I'm shy, don't write essays very well (or interview well), but am a good student. I know I'm ranked in top 5 of my class.

Should I bother with Ivy Leagues or any really top university? Should I attend college in my home state (California) or somewhere else?

Any suggestions or advice appreciated!

To colleges? I was thinking between French and Spanish they would both get to the same course level but I was wondering if one looked better.

For all in general and in Texas,New York, and California specificaly.

And for medical school if you minor in a language does one look better?

I am working in IT sector for the last 6 yrs. I have done my Bachelors in Engineering. I want to do my Masters now while working. I am kind of confused as i am not sure what i want to pursue? i am already doing a bit of people management and also handling a big chunk of technical work.

I have no interest in doing MBA in Finance/Sales, but i want to know if doing other MBA programs which are aimed for developing managers in software field is going to be of any help to grow in the organization, specifically to manage existing projects and get new ones?

I can see the benefit of doing a MS as it is going to make me more technically strong, which in turn will let me handle existing projects and get new ones!!!

Assume that you have just finished high school and had the financial means to attend any university in the world, which school would you pick and why? Reflecting on the attributes of the particular university that helped make your decision. The attributes you choose are entirely up to you. Maybe it was based on location, a particular program that is offered, university reputation, etc..

I am still looking at the online schools and I see that Capella University, which already is the only online school pessessing CACREP accreditation and SHRM certification, was just recognized by the Department of Home Land Security and the National Security Agency as a Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance. What does this mean to Capella learners, current and future?
