I am a current junior in high school and I am considering majoring in a business major, maybe finance, but open for suggestions in other areas of expertise. Is majoring in a business major good for job security? What is the average salary of the graduates who receive a job after graduation? What are the chances of getting a job right after graduation? I plan to attend Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Please help me with any information about business majors and jobs in business. Serious answers and sources (not Business Week) appreciated.

Thank you.

Last year I was academically suspended-- a harsh and serious consequence. Over the past year, I've met with an academic adviser and psychologist to sort out my issues and set realistic, yet challenging goals for myself.

I know that having depression and an unhealthy family are not excuses, but they contributed to why I did so awful academically. I also had health problems (anaphylactic reactions) which affected my academic performance. I have proof regarding that, along with my family problems. I've also made up an academic plan for what I want to do, but I'm worried that the scholastics committee won't accept me. My academic history is somewhat "bipolar"-- there have been times where I do extremely well, and other times where I did awful. I want to be able to convey in my petition that I am very serious about wanting to get back into school and HAVE changed.

Is there anything else I should do to help my case? My academic adv. told me my plan was realistic.

becoming a doctor? okay so after high schohol you apply to a college and if you get in you take subjects that angle toward medicine. and you should do well and stff. THEN you take the MCAT.

and now i'm wondering: why does it matter what college you went to? because doesn't your elligibility to go to med. school depend on your MCAT scores and college grades? what does going to princeton or an ivy league college matter?

I've granted a provisional admission to Umass-dartmouth to presue my gradute study in electrical engineering.

Due to the fact that I'm an international student I should take TOFEL and GRE tests. in the next few week I'm going to the US to attend a language center and then I can get good scores in both exams.

I've got a GPA of 4.53/5.00 and am finacially well-off, is the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth really good for me as a graduate engineering student or I can get a better chance after i take GRE and TOFEL test??

and what are my chances in being admitted in Stanford/ Columbia/MIT?

Add it all up
then consider the grants from big pharma, defense dept, corporations, etc and then look at the billions in reserve funds that the big schools have i.e. U of T, Rice, Tx Tech, and Tx A&M....these are state ultra-rich schools all who have raised tuition every year for decades.
