Your friends must be insane. No, really - realize that each of us tends to think we aren't doing enough, but you really are doing just what you should be. At some point, you may need to focus your activities to some in which you can make a real difference. When we evaluate students for scholarships, we tend to refer to them not by a long list of things, but by the thing they did which had a significant impact - he's the one who set up the organization to feed the hungry, she's the one who formed a team for the robotics competition, etc. You also need to be careful not to burn out. You still have several years to go, and you need to keep up your motivation. Your grades have to stay where they are, and if you do too much, you aren't showing the ability to prioritize.

You are on your way, it looks great, but part of getting into university, especially an elite one, your personality counts towards how they pick individuals. I havn't applied to any such university as elite as say harvard or yale etc. but i do think you need to write a letter saying why this university should accept you, and what you will do the help the university in some way or another, it's not all up to your achievements, its a big part but they can accept a person with a lower gpa, than someone else because they showed determination, inspiration etc during the interview process..I would enjoy your high-school years as they are the best years of your life, except maybe university but they are ranked up there. I wouldn't burn yourself out or try and do to much and end up on your face, if you don't get in the first year, take a year off, ask them why you didn't get in and strive towards accomplishing what that university wants in order to accept you. Just have fun, do what you can and enjoy, because as much as everyone wants to grow up, it's not always what it seems. Hope you get what you want

What about sports? Even if your not a great athlete you can always do track or some sport that doesn't involve tryouts. I play Varsity Hockey, Golf, and Lacrosse.

Also do really well on your SAT's, shoot for a 2200 if you want to get into a really good college like Stanford (considering you live in California).

Good luck.
