You cannot be your parents' dependent. If you are, you cannot be a FL resident. If you are financially independent, you need a permanent FL address, a Florida driver's license, a proof of residency such as utility bills. If you can become a FL resident, there are more benefits that cheaper tuition (although UF is a great school for the money! - it's my alma mater :) ). FL residents have no state or local income tax, your car does not have to pass inspections (although some might say that is a bad thing), you get fresh seafood year round, and you get cheap tickets to Disneyworld! I gave up my FL residency when I moved to PA for grad school. I definitely regret it.

You have to be a resident for at last a year in Florida before you can claim in-state tuition which is about 5 times less than out-of-state.

im pretty sure that out of state tuition goes by where your parents live (if you are a dependent student, which is under 25, 1st undergrad degree, not married, no dependents...)...if you are an independent student (over 25, in grad school, married, or dependents), you would have to get a new license, have a place to live there (not the school's dorms), check out the dmv website http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/html/dlnew.html just search for residency or something

maximum places are a million 365 days of shown residency. I moved from AR to MO to attend college and all I had to have became a MO DL..each and every college is diverse so i might definately call FA and ask them. do no longer in basic terms bypass via what their catalog or in spite of says..they regulate issues each and every of the time.
