hi, as a senior, i have been accepted to both davis and berkeley, and can probably go to both only if i live at home or with relatives since i am not getting any financial aid at all BUT a lot of people tell me I would do better without the competition and should go to crc and sac state for 2 years to save money and then transfer. others say that i've worked too hard not to go to a UC. is it better that i've already been accepted and this will benefit me when i apply again as a transfer? will colleges look at high school grades? or should i directly go to a UC? help me convince my parents!

I have transferred my undergraduate schools (Western Michigan to Grand Valley State). I had a very low gpa at Western (2.77). I am going to raise my gpa a LOT at my new school, but am worried that when I apply to grad school (Emerson College in Boston is my 1st choice) that I might not get in based on my grades at my former school. Do Grad Schools want to see both transcripts? Does it matter if the bad grades are in an un-related field (I used to be a music major, and am now a Writing major)? I really want to go here, but am nervous I won't get accepted (I still have awhile to raise my gpa) but mostly I just am asking about transcripts from prior schools..
Thanks!

I am a junior in highschool, but I am looking into the pharmacy field. I'm unsure where to start!

1. Attend a college or university
-- Major in what? pre-med? but if the college doesn't offer pre-med, do I take chemistry?
-- Go to a college for 4 years?

2. After meeting the pharmacy school requirements in college, apply to pharmacy school.
-- Is it hard to get into pharmacy school?
-- How long would I be in pharmacy school?
-- Where are they pharmacy schools besides Boston?

If anyone could help me with these questions, that'd be great. Thanks!

Hi =)

I'm currently a senior at high school and having a hard time deciding between colleges, particularly Cal. I've heard many accounts of it being a very competitive environment, especially in MCB, and it being unsafe. Although I applied as a Genetics major, I'm thinking of declaring myself a Chinese major because I'm much more interested in that field. Would you guys say it's hard to change my major, considering the two are so different? Would if be difficult for me to manage my workload if I plan on being a pre-med but still major in Chinese?

THANK YOU ^____^

I went to a bad high school... got a 4.0 unweighted. 4.35 weighted. However, in the applicant pool at UC Berkeley and UCLA, I look average/below average because my SAT score was 1910. (620M, 630V, 660W.) However, I've never practiced for these tests.... so I went in cold for the SAT. Do you think I could survive going from a below average high school with average scores to a top university like UCLA and CAL. I'm a hard worker... if that means anything. But, I dont want to give up a social life. What's a realistic GPA that I might be able to pool off?
