My dream job is to be a high school guidance counselor in a small school like the one that I went to. My guidance counselor helped me through high school a lot and I really do not think I would have been able to do it without him. I really want to help teens during a period of their lives that is difficult and overwhelming. However, a lot of people in my family stick their nose up at me! (parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents etc...) None of them went to college so they should be proud of me! However, they think that my career goal is not high enough! I know I am not going to be rich, but that's now what's important for me. I am paying for my education I should be able to do what I want...

I am still in high school in my junior year but will be an early graduate and I am planning on going to a junior college, then transferring to UCLA or CSUN. I am planning on majoring in English to become an English Professor. What courses do you recommend I take in junior college (for my G.E. courses) that would be great for an English major?

After I graduate I will probably go straight to graduate school. I hear Emory is good. They have a graduate Film program. If you have a B.A. in Film you can get a Masters in Business right? Anyways any good graduate programs you recommend? I plan on studying Film theory not Film Production. And with Business as a Masters maybe a basic Business Administration or Management.

ok...i have a number of questions to have your opinion about, please be patient!:

1-how do the profession of pharmacy and pharmacists contribute to health promotion and disease prevention?

2- what could be done to ensure that PHARMACY STUDENTS take personal responsibility for their OWN health?(because college students tend to have high levels of stress, poor nuitrion, high cholestrol and obesity, alcohol and drug abuse during their years of studying)

3- what are the challenges for applying "the healthy student project"?(the challeges that students will face as well as people who apply the project)

4-what are the long term benifits for applying this project on pharmacy students in their life and profession?

I have been looking at Neumont University and have gotten letters from them. They offer an accelerated bachelors degree program in computer science in which the student finishes in just two years rather than four. However, I found out that the students go year round, that is, 10 weeks on, 3 weeks off, for 2 years. Their schedule is Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm. That would be my class schedule everyday, then I would only imagine the amount of work they get and study time. They don't have dorms, but rather apartments and use a shuttle to get to their classes. I would also be out of state and away from friends and family.

So my question is, would you want to go though this for 2 years, graduate with a bachelors and get a job that averages $60,000/year (according to the pamphlets they sent me and their website) or go to a close to come commuter college for 4 years get the same degree (but maybe not the same job), but have a much better schedule and have time for other fun things too.?

I am a business major at a small not well known college. I was accepted to a great school and am thinking about transfering. Right now I have great GPA because my school is easy. If I go to the harder school it would more than likely be a avg GPA. So what is better to have, the colege name or the high gpa?

In approximately a month, I will graduate with from a solid engineering school and with a B.S. in Computer Science with a 3.95 GPA, yet I have not the slightest clue what to do thereafter.

Clearly, it is too late to apply to graduate school; additionally, from doing undergraduate research and seeing what goes on, I am not entirely sure that going to grad school in computer science is useful.

My peers talk about getting offers for 60k right out of school; nevertheless, working full-time seems like selling my soul at market value, and I hesitate at the prospect of becoming a commodity/asset/liability.

I'm getting a D in one class but above a C in the rest, an A in two classes, and a B in two others. Plus I'm taking three AP clases and the D wouldn't hurt my GPA dramatically, or my class rank. In fact it would stay the same as before. I'm worried I won't be able to change my grade though, So I need some assurance. Well I'm in High School and I got accepted at the university, do you guys think they'll reject me if i get a D, and i'm trying really hard, but only a couple weeks left to raise my grade.

I've heard that it's much more difficult to get a job as a teacher if you have gone to graduate school before getting into the actual field. This didn't make much sense to me but the reasoning is that they have to be a new teacher more because of the higher degree. So would it be wise to go into graduate school right after my undergraduate work or work through it while teaching?
